How BMW Guidebook researches, writes, and corrects its guides — in plain language.

How we research

Every guide starts from primary sources where possible: BMW technical documentation and service bulletins, parts catalogs, and official specifications. We cross-check against owner reports from forums and communities, repair data, and recall records. When sources disagree, we say so instead of pretending there’s one clean answer.

Hands-on grounding

Our DIY and troubleshooting guides are written by people who have actually done the work on their own BMWs — not rewritten from someone else’s video. If we haven’t done a procedure ourselves, we say which sources the guide is based on.

Independence

We’re not affiliated with BMW AG, dealers, or parts suppliers. Nobody pays for coverage, and sponsors (we have none yet) would never see a draft before publication.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. Email [email protected] with the article URL and the issue; verified corrections go up within 48 hours, and significant changes are noted at the bottom of the article with a date.

No invented facts

We don’t publish guessed torque specs, invented failure rates, or made-up prices. Where data is thin, we label it as owner-reported or approximate rather than presenting it as fact.
