How to buy a used BMW with confidence.
Your 3 Series’ factory warranty is expiring, and the finance office is offering an extended warranty for a number that made you flinch. Is it protection or profit? This guide breaks down BMW’s own Extended Service Contracts (Powertrain Plus, Gold, Platinum), how third-party warranties compare, what the fine print actually excludes, what owners report paying,…
The sticker price on a used BMW is a starting bid, not a price — but most buyers negotiate with opinions while the seller negotiates with data. This guide flips that: which data points actually move a used BMW price (comparable listings, inspection findings, reconditioning costs, days on market), how dealer and private-party negotiations differ,…
Fifteen thousand dollars buys you into the BMW 3 Series — but it also buys you into the previous owner’s maintenance habits. At this price you are shopping ten-to-twenty-year-old cars, and the difference between a smart buy and a money pit is knowing exactly which years, engines, and conditions are worth your money. This guide…
Short answer: The bmw m sport package is a factory option bundle (option code 337) that gives a regular 3 Series the M look and sharper chassis manners — M aero bumpers, M sport suspension (15 mm lower on the E90, 10 mm on the F30 and G20), M wheels, M steering wheel, sport seats…
Short answer BMW option codes are the factory build sheet of a 3 Series: three- and four-character codes like ZPP (Premium Package), ZMP (M Sport Package), 2TB (Sport automatic transmission), and 688 (Harman Kardon) tell you exactly what a car left the factory with. The VIN’s first 11 characters narrow down country, model, engine, and…

Run the DIY checklist first to eliminate bad cars, then pay an independent BMW specialist $150–$300 (owner-reported range) to scan every module, pressure-test the…

Drop one wheel size where brakes allow — M…

Every 3 Series from the E90 through the G20 shares the…
Lease or buy? On a BMW 3 Series the answer is not philosophical — it is arithmetic. A lease is simply paying for the depreciation you use plus interest (the money factor), while buying means paying for all of it and hoping the resale value holds. This bmw 3 series lease vs buy guide explains…
A Certified Pre-Owned BMW promises the sweet spot of car buying: a late-model 3 Series that has been inspected, reconditioned, and warranty-backed by BMW itself, at a used-car price. The catch is the premium — CPO cars cost meaningfully more than equivalent non-certified cars — and the coverage is shorter than most shoppers assume. This…
